italian version. mixed bag: "the telephone" had just the right pacing and twists, and was especially great in light of its influences on later horror movies. "the wurdulak" dragged on since i found the insta-love off-putting as a plot point and the voice acting very cheesy. "the drop of water" was genuinely good. read more

hooptober 5 #21 horror x52 horror anthology watched on arrow video blu-ray. this is the fifth bava movie i've seen and the first miss for me. i think what made me dislike movie the most was the story, "the telephone". all the ringing of the telephone was absolutely annoyingly brutal! and then you have "the wurdalak" story where boris karloff says, "can i not fondle my grandson?" or something like that, and i tapped out. typical great bava visuals, but i feel they were wasted. read more
