Was looking forward to this, that magnifies the deflation having sat through it. For such a star studded cast many of whom are gifted performers, this is a terrible indictment of them collectively. Constipated dialogue, tortuous plotline and an aimless hip-hop through history are just three of the gashes scarring this movie. The effects are well done as is a minimal requirement from Marvel these days, but they cannot save this. not a perfect movie, could be much better but this doesnt deserve all the low ratings it is getting i love the direction marvel is going in with this movie, if you are a long time marvel comics reader, you should definitely watch this one one of the most mature movies from marvel so far, hoping to see more such stuff from marvel read more

really it's a movie about family, the thinkers and the fighters. the whole gang is here! phastos, ajak, bargan, crangle, borgo the starved, and more. you better believe the near 3 hour runtime makes you care about all of them. my mind was blown when i found out climate change isn't caused by pollution from oil pipelines but by deviants actually! and who can forget the part where gramble bravely runs the manhattan project. truly expanding the marvel universe in every possible way. rest in peace kingo you would've loved marvel's eternals. read more

this was so static. it felt unfocused, bland, and direly unimaginative. cersi is a boring protagonist. she has some glimmer of personality in the beginning, but its quickly snuffed out as she's forced into a romantic dynamic with richard madden's ikaris, and they have zero chemistry with each other. none. she becomes a series of stares that were writing as 'longing' but read onscreen as 'blank'. all the interesting characters are short-lived or pushed to the sides, which somehow is what the entire movie feels like. it never finds a singular compelling focus, ever. you can see the potential... read more

i was not a follower of marvel since endgame so i was surprised that this film is in mcu. amazing acting and amazing visual effects. the film has an acceptable story writing but it was ruined by terrible pacing and too much characters. a film is not enough to fit all of the characters and i wonder why they did not produce this into a series. the climax was ruined because it took a while for the film to get there but it ends in just about 15 minutes. the pay off was not great as the film established the conflicts poorly. i would still recommend it to casual fan of comic book film. it was not a... read more

this movie has... a lot of everything, including a large ensemble cast, lots of cosmic marvel lore, and lots of stuff going on through the whole film. unfortunately, a lot of it gets lost by the end, including some of our characters and pretty much the whole deviant plotline. one thing's for sure: the mcu's gettin' wild. read more

now i am definitely sure the mcu can only go downwards since it had its peak with endgame. there are simply not much strong characters left and therefore a great coming together like the first avengers movie was back then will never be possible again. the first 2 phases of the mcu were the brain child of genius minds. the third phase the inevitable climax/conclusion. but now i think there is not much (or enough) left to keep the momentum high and the overall plot interesting. either it will fall apart to single/independent movies or it will fade into meaningless in the next five years... star... read more

The movie asks the question "Are we the baddies?" and it answers it with a "Yeah, maybe." then we are supposed to cheer along as they keep being the baddies. Also the people in charge of size, scale and math have a problem dealing with "big" numbers. The script and sizes if important plot points are all over the place. If you're actually following along and paying attention, there is a massive problem with the "lore" they are trying to create. read more

Eternals isnt the worst entry in the MCU, but it isnt on the top of my ranking for the MCU! The story feels very messy with scenes in the present day & in the past and you dont really get to meet a load of the characters in more detail! When something bad happens to our heroes, you dont really feel suspense for a character as you havent met them well enough. It would help massively if Marvel made a prequel to this movie which would helped us learn & like the Eternals characters more! The mid credits scene also makes me want a sequel. THANK GOD a refreshingly different kind of marvel movie. Really enjoyed the pacing in this movie and i really felt the emotions of the characters and the impact the story had. Marvel likes to revive characters or give plot armor to their characters, even their smallest. But this time, i really felt the stakes. My quick rating - 6;6/10. I have been waiting for this one even though I never really touched upon the comics back when I did read them. What I knew of their story though; I was aware this was going to be a hard sell for the current MCU audience. Basically a bit too broad cosmic scale; and not enough; well; Iron Man. really exposes marvel's lack of imagination. the minute they decided to make the main cast in a drama characters that never change they should have gone back to square one. completely free of struggle or genuine conflict outside of action, which is flat and lacks tension. read more

the best parts of this film: - phastos and his husband (about time we had lgbtq representation in the mcu) - that one interaction between druig and makkari - harry mf styles as starfox - the first ever sex scene in the mcu lmfao read more
