Book or Film's Bad Ending? Which one is worse?

I remember reading the book as teenager bringing me all these weird feelings but everything was overshadowed by the ending of it. Well, there's no way to describe my frustration watching this after what the first one was able to accomplish. It really felt like it was dragging itself. This film should have never been this long.

this is not a bad film its just unnecessary. maybe if i didnt enjoy the first one so much id rank it higher but the story, as well as the actors, are nowhere near as entertaining. the entire time youre watching you feel like your retreading. but not as the characters, as the audience who just watched the first one again in preparation. read more

boy this was bad.. horrible pacing, cartoon network tier cgi, everything is drawn out so much longer than need be as well. it wasn't scary at all. not even a little. this was a comedy. there are a handful of scenes that were pretty decent though. i gave it an extra half a star for that the shining reference near the end. overall waste of time in my opinion though, i wouldn't recommend this one. read more

I was a big fan of the original IT with Tim Curry and when the remake came out a couple of years ago I was excited but didn't think much of that movie. Now a sequel with a good cast and a presumed ending of the saga I thought this would of been better but even a 3 star rating from me was generous. It was just a mish mash and it went overly too long. Hopefully Pennywise is now dead and gone for good. read more

As a fan of the 1990 'IT' series, I was intrigued by how this moviw would portray the change to adults. Personally I think it works great. Obviously I prefer certain characters from 1990 and some from this 2017 version which is what happens. Bill Hader shines in this movie and definitely makes it better in many scenes. I'm glad I saw It but I do think it felt overly long. The story's structured calls for a lot of rehashing of what we saw in Chapter One but with the adult characters and that got tiresome after awhile. Also, the majority of the scares felt more silly than scary and I was kind of just awkwardly giggling the whole time. In a way, it was kind of nice because it felt like little-kid spooky like a haunted house or an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark but it's combined with an R rating so it feels off. Ended up liking this more than the first time I watched it, though it's still far from good. Too long and the grown up characters are not interesting enough. At the same time there are some nice creepy moments and IT/Pennywise is still my fave horror villain. Very disappointing that Richie has such a sad background, which does a lot to build his character and put his actions in perspective, while the others are fairly 2-dimensional. read more

A whole lot of choices are made in this movie and most of them are not good! I enjoyed parts, but I think that's a combination of the cast and the moments when Chapter Two is reminiscent of the comedy-horror-drama balance of the first movie. 27 years has passed and Pennywise returns to Derry causing each member of The Losers Club to make good on their blood oaths to come back and finish him off for good. At nearly three hours, its a notable investment in anyone's free time, thankfully its a worthwhile one as for the most part the adult cast are believable representations of the novels characters, with Pennywise again a remarkable standout adversary in this competent retelling.
