this movie is two things. 1. it is nowhere near as good as the original. not even close. not by a long shot. the absurdities that happened in the first film worked in that film because the comic timing was so perfect that when something like a building blowing up and jake and elwood just get up and walk away happens it may not make sense but you can believe it. plus the comedy and the realism was prominent far more in the original while here the fantasy element is more prominent than anything else which does not work. 2. this film is nowhere near as bad as they say. it may not be very good,... read more

18 years after "The Blues Brothers", Elwood Blues learns Jake has passed away and once again tries putting what's left of the Band together. Underrated sequel to the 1980 hit isn't without its flaws but it plays as an openly downbeat, anti-nostalgic riff on the unrecoverability of the past. Plenty of music numbers feature a stellar cast of blues legends. Stay through the end titles for a whole extra James Brown track. read more
