FINALLY, I was able to force myself to sit through this abomination. It's not a big secret that this movie is one of the biggest mistakes Will ever made during his career. I mean, come on! The man chose this over the leading role in The Matrix! A little less known fact is that this movie also comes with a giant "spider" that was originally supposed to be in Superman Lives. The one with Nicolas Cage, yes. Superman Lives didn't really happen, but the idea about the giant "spider" was so tempting that they've ended up using it in this movie. the first (and perhaps only) gag that works in wild wild west occurs over 24 minutes into the movie (the severed head). the movie buries fair jokes like that with tons of needless sexual innuendo and terribly unfunny ablest, sexist, homophobic and racist humor that you'll have to convince me wasn't penned by a group of rowdy ten year old boys. conversely, the movie is also full of stuff that seems designed to feature prominently in energetic tv-spots and bombastic theatrical trailers. consider: the excellent production design, the rousing score, the unflappable swagger of will smith, the read more
