one of the worst sequels ever made, and the original wasn't very good to begin with. it is entirely reliant on you having seen the original to have any idea what is happening, but it also actively contradicts what they established in the first film constantly. even watching the "renegade cut" which is the best version out there, the plot is almost incomprehensible and the acting is terrible. christopher lambert is unconvincing as either a human or an alien. it tries really hard to be funny, cracking a lot of bad jokes, but none of them are remotely funny. also, i just love that they have read more

i can only comment on the director's cut for this, as that's what i saw today and it was my first time experiencing highlander 2. i don't know, even if the theatrical cut has it so the story makes less or more sense i'm not sure i'd care? like, this is to the first movie what twin peaks the return was to the original series. wildly ambitious and not too concerned in clueing you in on everything that has happened in the last couple of decades. life went on, and you weren't there while it happened, so not everything is going to make sense. this cyberpunk shit is also far more up my alley and so... read more
