The Neighbor

My quick rating - 5;4/10. Not a bad thriller. The film starts off fairly slow and does drag at times but is helped along by some fairly decent acting in the don't say much to convey the mood type of way. Two crooks tryingto basically get out of the drug business take up home next to a mysterious neighbor (Engvall) who parts with his comedy (or if you have seen him; lack of comedy) ways and plays the strange guy next door. I thought this would of been pretty good considering the directors last two films being those of "The Collector" series but unfortunately this just falls flat. Sure there are some tension filled scenes but we have seen this same kind of movie done over and over. Josh Stewart was in the aforementioned last two movies so the director obviously likes working with him. The lead bad guy is some comedian I think, regardless I had never heard of him. The only good point about this movie is its quite short so it can be watched easily one late night. read more
