everest features some stunning mountain footage and thrilling scenes of men in peril. especially in imax; films like this were made for the biggest screen and best sound. it also features stock characters and mostly generic dialogue. it also features a lot of build up and not much peril. it felt like the storm didn't hit until the last half hour and the first hour and a half was all stock character development. it also features another great performance from the ever awesome jason clarke and the great emily watson. it features keira knightley and jake gyllenhaal in roles that are mostly read more

everest is big budget spectacle in every sense of the word. from beautiful sweeping vistas to majestic, yet terrifying, shots of an unforgiving mountain, everest builds a beautiful visual experience around some technically excellent elements of the film. there is a admirable grandeur to the scope and proceedings of this film. the goal of these characters are nothing less than something that should be impossible to achieve, yet people chase it anyways. the film seems to understand the folly of the activity, with hints of the icarus story littered throughout. but, it also understands and read more
