z for zachariah proves that craig zobel has a lot of talent when it comes to directing. it is sparse and haunting in tone. on to of that, it is a very beautiful film to look at and he was able to wrangle some very excellent performances from the three actors, two of which i've never really been impressed with. margot robbie really stands out and anchors this film in a very solid performance but, at some point, things become too sparse. zobel relies on a slow pace and a haunting tone, to a fault at some points. there is a thread of a very compelling story and some very interesting thematic read more
