Every M. Night Shyamalan's newest film makes me hope that this is going to be the one. The one where the director of The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, The Village, and Signs makes a triumphant comeback to his former glory. Unfortunately Old is closer to The Happening than The Sixth Sense. Old has a very good concept, a decent cast and an amazing location but overall feels like a missed opportunity and is oddly very clumsy. I do feel M. I kind of wish the movies name was different because even not watching a trailer you can still guess the basics of what will happen. I don't think it was a horrible film but I also don't it think it's fantastic. I definitely felt it was interesting enough. I just didn't feel really any sort of way for the characters though. I didn't feel any which way towards someone as things happened. read more

The idea was great but the execution lacked here. I haven't really seen a good M. Night Shyamalan since his biggest "The Sixth Sense". This film looked really good visually and the location was beautiful and I was just waiting for any sort of horror event to happen. Only good for the die hard fans of his movies read more

I wanted this to be good, I really did. The dialogue killed it for me. I found myself shaking my head far too often at the terrible dialogue. Maybe M. Night will get somebody else to write the dialogue for his next film, but probably not.. The concept is pretty good and fairly well executed, although the reveal wasn't anything special or surprising. There are some very goofy things that happen that had me laughing when I don't think I was supposed to be. I probably won't be able to bring myself to watch this one again, at least not for a very long time. read more

My double feature with Cabin In The Woods. Catching up on M Night's recent works (zero desire to see Last Airbender or After "Earf"). My expectations were extremely low for this I heard it was terrible so for me it was not that bad. The science of it was weak but it entertained me. Worth a watch, it's in the same class as The Village (which I didn't hate like a lot of people did). read more

film originale e carino ma non tutto quadra.... per questo perde un po' di punti.Tipo la maturità della bambini aumenta solo fisicamente fin che lei resta incinta, mentre il bimbo (che alla fine si salva) diventa anche maturo di pensiero, più intelligente, consapevole di cose che un bimbo di 6 anni non conosce nemmeno.Cose che avvengono solo vivendo la vita (le varie esperienze, studi,lavoro ecc.), non solo perché il tempo passa veloce (50 anni in un giorno). read more

Uma alegoria filosófica interessante que abre muito espaço para divagação, mas que pelas obrigações hollywoodianas recorre a algumas péssimas saídas. A exemplo da constante dialogia explanatória, assim como nas escolhas narrativas do segundo ato que carecem de uma maior inventividade. A crítica lugar-comum (e até caricata), a questões sociais recorrentes também incomoda. E tendo em vista a atual tendência cinematográfica de se aprofundar sobre estes, torna-se ainda mais perceptivo a claudicância diegética explicitada: os diálogos são pobres!!
