Finally watched it! Don't know why I thought it was going to be in Korea however. Minari has an amazing cast, everyone performed superbly. Will Patton was a nice little surprise. Interesting to see when the credits start rolling that the film produced by Brad Pitt. Really enjoyed it. Will have to check the director's filmography. read more

devastatingly warm family drama about the failures of parents to care for their kids. the small town of big emotions can be brutally pointed, but minari maintains an optimism so many similar films discard in the first act. remarkable performances all around; my mom kept remarking "it doesn't feel like a movie, it's too real, how did they make this?!" support your local farmers. read more

Saw this as being the Number 1 movie rated by Letterboxd members for 2020 so thought I would check it out. A Korean family moves to Arkansas to start farm life. All actors are great in this and is the movie is beautifully directed by Lee Isaac Chung. Hope this does well at the next Academy Awards as it would be thoroughly deserved.
